Physiotherapist

A part-time musculoskeletal Physiotherapy mentorship opportunity

Take your Physiotherapy treatment of foot and ankle injuries and integrated treatment of the whole body to a new level.

Why this is an exciting opportunity

If you’re a passionate physiotherapist with significant professional experience who is looking for an opportunity to deepen your professional expertise and become the go-to for complex foot and ankle treatment, then this opportunity is for you.

In this role you will be practicing and learning alongside Robyn Gant, Australia’s leading expert in advanced foot and ankle treatment.

You will learn a systematic approach to diagnosing and solving complex and chronic foot and ankle injuries that others have put into the “too hard basket”.

This deep expertise and experience will enable you to offer innovative solutions to resolve challenging conditions using an integrative and tailored approach, which will set you apart from other physiotherapists and build a real point of difference in your career.

You’ll also enjoy deep career satisfaction in being the person that solves complex issues that others can’t.

What you will learn

Working with Robyn, you will learn to become a better detective by asking better questions to discover the clues and insights required to resolve their problem using a unique and systematic process.

You will understand both the bigger picture and the smaller anatomical details that make a difference to the outcome. Your training and development will include online materials, practice sessions, and working collaboratively with clients, supported by regular meetings.

Meet your new mentor

Robyn Gant has been practicing musculoskeletal physiotherapy for over 36 years. After completing her Masters’ Degree in Physiotherapy, researching the biomechanics of the foot, Robyn has taught clinical workshops on foot and ankle injuries, using manual therapy and exercise to Physiotherapists and Podiatrists and mentored a team of physiotherapists through her practice. Being a life-long learner has fueled her passion and enabled her to practice to continually evolve.

The skills that will help you to be successful

The ideal candidate will have a problem-solving mindset, and a hunger for learning new ideas. Attention to detail, while keeping sight of the bigger picture are desirable attributes. Your empathetic approach and positive communication skills will enable you to work well as part of a team, and coach your clients to achieve their goals.

Our longer appointment times, typically forty-five minutes, will enable you to provide thorough and tailored treatment. You will learn ways to work “smarter not harder”, that will improve your job satisfaction and the longevity of your career.

The details

Registered Physiotherapists with permanent Australian residency with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries, and mature age Masters’ students with experience working with clients will suit this opportunity.

The expectation is that this would be a longer-term commitment to ensure you achieve the full benefit of the experience. Manual therapy skills and exercise prescription in treatment of the pelvis & thorax, joint and neural mobilization, and trigger point therapy are an advantage.
